India Set to Launch First Manned Space Mission ‘Gaganyaan’ by December 2025

ISRO is all set to script history in December 2025 with the launch of Gaganyaan, India’s first manned space mission. The ambitious venture will send three astronauts into low Earth orbit for a seven-day mission, marking India as the fourth nation to independently send humans into space.

The astronauts—trained by ISRO in collaboration with Russia’s Roscosmos and France’s CNES—have completed rigorous simulations, underwater survival training, and zero-gravity rehearsals.

The Gaganyaan crew module, developed with indigenous materials and equipped with emergency escape systems, has passed multiple abort tests. The mission will use a GSLV Mk III rocket from Sriharikota.

Gaganyaan is not only a symbol of national pride but also a stepping stone toward India’s plans for a space station by 2035. Prime Minister Modi has called it “India’s tryst with the stars.”
